AS63806: We are now an "IP Address Management Agent" (LIR) at JPNIC

Since October 2025, we have been an "IP Address Management Agent" (Japanese: IPアドレス管理指定事業者), an LIR (local internet registry) at JPNIC, the national internet registry (NIR) of Japan.

This means we can assign IP addresses out of the ranges allocated to us to others to provide connectivity to them, effectively being an Internet service provider (ISP).

We also have registered the domain name as an official Japanese LIR: menhera.ad.jp.. (N.B. Only official members and designated agents can register names under ad.jp.)

To provide official services to people external to our community (of course free of charge), we will acquire a Reported Telecommunication Carrier (Japanese: 届出電気通信事業者) status in Japan, during our fiscal year 2026 (Jan-Dec).
